Nolboo Hangari Galbi @ OC

Orchard Central (OC) is located at Somerset. You can find pamper yourself at OC as this mall is 11 floor high! This is the only mall which you can find many food outlets from B2 to 11 Floor.

My friend and I tried Nolboo Hangari Galbi, a korean restaurant which is located at Level 8. The outlet looks big and clean. Very korean style and they played Korean songs.

The staff served us seat and was hurried us to order the food from the menu which we are not even glare through it yet! Most of the menu contains beef which I seldom consume the beef.

I asked him (staff) if I could not change the beef to chicken, he was rather hostile and impatient to respond my question that I could not change to chicken and they never had this request before and asked me to change other dish and hurried me again!

In the end, I choose Bulgogi Chicken at the cost of SGD$24.00, 1 Steamed Rice SGD$1.50, 1 Seaweed Soup SGD$1.00 and my friend ordered 1 Soybean Paste Stew SGD$16.00. Plus, they included 2 Tea SGD$2.00, which we do not order!

A piece of advice,  if you are not beef eater, you might need to consider before patron to this Korean restaurant.

Rating for Nolboo Hangari Galbi Orchard Central Outlet:

Locational: 4/5 It takes you about 10 minutes walk from Somerset MRT station and 15 minutes walk from Orchard MRT station. It is not convenience when it's raining heavily.

Ambience: 5/5 The restaurant is Korean style. Good seating plan layout and the place is big.

Customer Service: 3/5 Their staff are Rude (a Local wearing shirt with spec. Believe to be supervisor or manager). Keep rushing you to order their food when you yet to see the menu and not a great listener to take your order.

Furthermore, if you could not consume beef and would want to change to chicken, the staff sound very hostile and not patient! Plus, I yet to finish my order and he just walked away!

Waiting Time: 3/5 The waiting time was rather slow and at that time it was not crowded. When the food was served, you need to barbecue yourself. (Compare to other Korean restaurant where they will barbecue for you or teach you how to barbecue yourself)

Even when you want to make a payment, the staff do not seem to be bothered and when they approach you and asked for the bill, you still need to wait about 20 minutes before they could bring you the bill.

Pricing: 2/5 The pricing was rather too expensive

PS. Cafe @ Dempsey Hill

I am sure that many of you had heard about Dempsey Hill or Tanglin Village and what's great about Dempsey Hill? Well, Dempsey hill was once belonged to Far East British Forces. Then, it became Former Headquarters of the Ministry of Denfence (MINDEF) and the Central Manpower Base (CMPB), where every young men need to report to enlist for the National Service (Army).

After MINDEF and CMPB moved out from Dempesy Hill in the 90's and it became un-vacant. The Singapore Land Authority (SLA) called for tenders in year 2006 to turn Dempesy Hill into Lifestyle and entertainment interest. That is why today Dempesy Hill become so popular to many people to dine and to relax after their hectic work.

Dempsey Hill consists of 8 blocks. Differences block have their own attraction. There one place you should not be missed is PS. Cafe.

PS. Cafe is a lovely place to dine in, having great gathering with your friends and families or order a drink and chit chat with your love one.

When you are outside their premises, you need to walk inside the wooden path before you can see the PS. Cafe. After that, you need to pull the heavy metal door and walk inside before the waiter/waitress can serve you.

During the night, it's crowded and I choose to sit outside as I can see night scenery and enjoy the night breeze. I ordered Dark Chocolate Brownie with ice-cream for my appetizer and Hot Mint Tea for my drink.

I love the appetizer! They have the awesome appetizer and what's more, I feel so refreshing after having hot Mint Tea!! The layout of the cafe is great too! very modern and contemporary design. But, this place always full of crowds and makes it to be noisy if you are dine in inside the premises!

Rating for PS. Cafe Harding Road (Dempsey Hill) Outlet:

Locational: 3/5 Travel to Dempsey Hill is not accessible. You need to drive in or you need to take public transport, SBS transit Bus no 7 from bus stop ID: 09022 Opposite Orchard MRT station and alighted at bus stop ID: 11211 After Peirce Road. After that walk up the hill about 10-15 minutes to reach.

Ambience: 5/5 You can choose to sit inside or outside the premises as it gives you differences ambience and scenery.

Customer Service: 5/5 The staffs are very friendly and courtesy!

Waiting Time: 2/5 When come to order or payment, you need wait quite a long time (around 20-30 minutes) before they could serve you. Perhaps, it is time for the management to hire more staffs! If you sit outside, you have a greater chance of not able to refill your water due to the crowds and shortage of staffs.

Food Serving: 5/5 Love their appetizer and their drink! Very Awesome!

Pricing: 5/5 Pricing is acceptable. Value of money!

Dining at Billy Bombers, The Central (Clarke Quay)

My friend and I visited The Central which is located at Clarke Quay for our dinner. At Central, there are many restaurants around, so we decided to patronize Billy Bombers Classic for our dinner.

The waiter was extremely friendly and served us our seat and told us the soup of the day will be Cream of Mushroom.

Billy Bombers Classic restaurant concept is American retro theme. In the restaurant itself, you can find many classic and retro decorate and the open concept kitchen. If the restaurant is not crowded, you can request to sit outside as you can see the Singapore River and the surrounding scenery.

If you noticed that, they played oldie songs. It can make you thought that you are now in the 60's as everything was so retro. The ambience was great.

After the dinner, you can cross the bridge over and take a scroll walk to enjoy the scenery at night or you can rest at the river bank and enjoy the night.

My friend ordered Cream of Mushroom and Burger. For myself, I ordered Fish & Chip.

Soon,  both of our food are served. My friend had double fried eggs and somehow the eggs was badly burnt but the vegetables was fresh!

For my Fish & Chip is rather big portion (consists of 2 Fish & Chip) which I doubt I could finish it. Plus, the salad was fresh too!

Rating for Billy Bombers, The Central (Clarke Quay) outlet:

Locational: 5/5 Directly above Clarke Quay MRT. Near to many established clubs, pubs and eatery outlets.

Ambience: 4/5 You can enjoys the outside scenery if you sit outdoor. I do not like open concept kitchen as I could smell burnt food.

Customer Service: 4/5 The staffs are very observable but they sometime like to chit chatting openly frequency.

Waiting Time: 4/5 Acceptable Waiting Time.

Food Serving: 3/5 The food portion always huge and there will be food wastage!

Pricing: 4/5 Pricing is acceptable but it will be great if more banks can have more promotions and privileges. Oh yea, they also have in store promotion where they will issued you Billy Bombers voucher where you can use it for next visit!
